Basketball Operations Intern

Number of Positions:  1 fall / 1 spring

Position Summary:  The intern will assist the basketball department with statistical research and analysis, entering data into the collegiate and player personnel database, draft preparation, game day responsibilities, researching various Collective Bargaining Agreement issues and other daily tasks/assignments.

Hours Required:  20 + hours per week minimum.  Basketball intern must be available in four (4) hour shifts and just have a flexible schedule.

When to Apply:  We will accept applications year-round.  However, we suggest you apply by October 31st for spring semester and June 30th for fall semester.

What to Expect:  This position is unpaid and students must receive college credit.  Approximately 3-4 weeks prior to the start of the internship program, 5-10 people will be selected to come in at their own expense for the interview process.  Finalists will be contacted by phone to schedule an interview, please indicate an accurate phone number on your resume.

3.  Extensive knowledge of basketball and the NBA

4.  Excellent written and verbal skills, as well as ability to multi-task and prioritize

5.  Willing and able to work a flexible schedule

6.  Maintain a professional image at all times

7.  Good communication skills with both internal and external staff

8.  Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

Responsibilities:

1.  Assisting with administrative needs (i.e. scheduling, filing, answering phones, generating daily reports, etc.)

2.  Assisting the scouting division with statistical research and analysis, data entry, draft preparation and travel arrangements

3.  Assisting the other divisions as needed - Video Staff, Player Relations, General Manager, etc.

4.  Assisting with game night responsibilities

5.  Other duties as assigned
