Community Relations Intern Position - Indiana Fever

Number of Positions: 2 Fall, Summer and Spring Semesters

Position Summary: Interns will assist the Community Relations Department in planning and implementing community relations events for the Indiana Fever. Interns will be involved with grass roots marketing efforts geared to increase interest in the WNBA and Fever both during the season and off-season. Interns will have game day/night responsibilities (if applicable) as well as perform project work for the department.

What to Expect: These positions are unpaid and students must be receiving college credit. Approximately 6-8 people will be selected to come in, at their own expense, for the interview process 3-4 weeks prior to the start of the internship program. Criteria and Qualifications: 

  1. Strong organizational skills
  2. Availability to work in a flexible schedule; including some evenings and weekends
  3. Ability to meet deadlines and work on multiple tasks in a timely manner
  4. Some experience in special events planning
  5. Strong written and verbal skills
  6. Current undergraduate or graduate students
  7. Marketing; sports administration; communications or related business majors preferred
  8. Strong creativity and computer skills
  9. Detail oriented

Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate/execute and track entire Community Ticket Block program
  2. Assist with planning and execution of community events throughout the Fever postseason and offseason
  3. Maintenance of inventory items including archives and autographed items
  4. Responding to donation requests and fan mail requests
  5. Game day responsibilities with community groups and pre and post game events during Fever postseason
  6. Research of organizations that fit into league initiatives
  7. Identify ways that we can extend our existing partnerships
  8. Research ways to improve our involvement in the community
  9. Assist Director of Business Operations with any needs
