Event Production Intern Position

Number Of Positions: 1-2 Interns each semester (Fall, Spring and Summer)

When to Apply: We will accept applications year-round.  However, we suggest you apply by Oct. 31st for spring semester, March 31st for summer semester, and June 30th for fall semester.  Qualified candidates will be contacted by phone to set up a formal interview.
What to Expect: These positions are unpaid and students must be receiving college credit. All resumes will be reviewed and the top applicants will be called to set-up an interview. In some cases phone interviews may be considered when the cost of travel is unreasonable.  Interns in Event Production area will assist with large events (concerts, games, etc) and will plan and execute most small events and meetings that take place.  Interns will also be responsible for the weekly Meeting Sheet that is distributed company wide which gives details for all smaller events taking place in Conseco Fieldhouse that given week.
Criteria & Qualifications:
  1. Some production knowledge (concert; radio; television; theatre; game operations)
  2. Computer literate: Windows; Excel; Internet & E-mail
  3. Strong organizational skills
  4. Sports marketing; Recreation or Hospitality Majors
  5. Must be a student and be receiving college credit
  6. Professional volunteer or student event coordination experience preferred
  7. Work experience in an entertainment/sports venue preferred
Responsibilities:
  1. Assist patrons during events
  2. Working with Event Coordinators on Production details; must be able to track and manage details of events from start to finish and work with managers to make event run smoothly
  3. Work with Box Office Manager
  4. Assist with various promoters and meeting planners
  5. Be prepared for long and unusual hours and schedules
  6. Work with promoters and agents regarding event scheduling and event calendars. Data input to maintain accuracy of calendars and scheduling will be required.
  7. General office duties (data entry; answering phones; copying; filing; faxing; collating and distributing departmental information)
  8. Excellent communication and organizational skills required
