Indiana Fever Community Relations/Promotions Intern

Number of Positions: 1 (Summer Semester/Fever Season)

Position Summary: To coordinate Fever promotions with the Pacers Fan Van for scheduled appearances as well as assist with the day-to-day operations of the Fever promotions. Also, assist day-to-day operations of Fever Community Relations in the office, game day responsibilities and community events. Intern will report to the Community Relations & Special Projects Manager.

Criteria & Qualifications:

  1. College student with study emphasis in Marketing, Sports Administration, Public Relations or a related field. Student must receive college credit for internship.
  2. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Computer literacy with experience in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc) is required.
  3. Must be organized, detail-oriented, and demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines in a timely manner. Must take responsibility seriously and be independently motivated.
  4. Must be flexible; able to accept direction and constructive criticism as necessary; and have the ability to work efficiently on multiple projects.
  5. Previous hands-on experience in a similar environment is helpful; but not necessary for the right candidate.
  6. Must be able to work beyond normal office hours; game nights and weekends assisting the season's game operations and community events.

Responsibilities:

  1. Go to Pacers Fan Van appearances to handle the promotion of the Fever.
  2. Preparation of Fever promotions for Pacers Fan Van appearances.
  3. Schedule Fever Sales Consultants for Pacers Fan Van appearances when necessary; and be available of ticket sales information at appearances.
  4. Assist with the planning and execution of community events throughout the Fever offseason and preseason.
  5. Game day responsibilities with community groups and pre and post game events.
  6. Research of hot community issues.
  7. Research of organizations that fit into league initiatives.
  8. Identify ways that we can extend our existing partnerships.
  9. Research ways to improve our involvement in the community.
  10. Assist Vice President of Business Operations with any needs.
