Promotions Intern Position

Number of Positions: 2-3 Full Season; 3 Summer Semester

Position Summary: Interns in the Promotions Department will assist in scheduling, coordinating and executing all promotions that are done between the Indiana Pacers and/or the Indiana Fever and their sponsors. Interns will also assist scheduling concourse and outdoor entertainment for the Pacers and/or Fever games and will the main contacts at the games for these activities. Summer interns will be involved in scheduling and working the Indiana Pacers grass roots marketing progam and the Pacers Fast Break, which includes a mobile basketball goal that travels to different events in the area.

Hours Required: 25-35 hours per week

When to Apply: Submit formal application with description of which internship you wish to apply for 3-4 months before the start date. All applicants will receive acknowledgment of our receipt of their application.

What to Expect: These positions are unpaid and students must be receiving college credit. Approximately 6-8 people will be selected to come in, at their own expense, for the interview process, 3-4 weeks prior to the start of their internship program. Finalists will be contacted by phone to schedule an interview, so please indicate an accurate phone number on your resume.

Criteria & Qualifications:

  1. Excellent phone skills
  2. Excellent computer skills; specifically Microsoft Word
  3. Detail oriented
  4. Able to deal with internal and external clients in a professional manner
  5. Marketing; sports administration; or related business majors
  6. Excellent writing skills
  7. Able to keep track of multiple calendars

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in scheduling/coordinating and executing all promotions that are done between the Indiana Pacers and/or the Indiana Fever and their sponsors
  2. Coordinate and execute concourse entertainment during Pacers and/or Fever games
  3. General office duties
  4. Schedule/coordinate and execute Pacers Fast Break Program
  5. Will sit in on all Department meetings; as well as marketing meetings
  6. Interns will be given various assignments/projects to work on including but not limited to interactions and information exchange with other NBA and WNBA teams
